Timing
First appearance happens within 24 hours of arrest, including weekends and holidays. It's typically a brief video hearing from the jail.
What the Judge Does
The judge reads the charges, advises the defendant of their rights, considers release conditions, and sets a bond amount (or denies bond for certain serious charges).
After First Appearance
Once bond is set, we can post immediately. Call us right after first appearance — we're ready to move.
