Why It Takes Time
After the bond is posted, the jail still has to process the release: verify paperwork, complete property return, and walk the defendant through out-processing. This isn't instant — even when everything is in order.
Typical Times by Facility
TGK (Miami-Dade): 12–24 hours. Broward Main Jail: 6–12 hours. Palm Beach Main: 6–10 hours. Monroe County: 4–8 hours. These are averages; actual times depend on shift changes, intake volume, and any holds.
What Slows It Down
Outstanding warrants, holds from other counties, weekend bookings, and shift changes (typically 6am, 2pm, 10pm) can all extend release time. We tell you the truth — we never promise an exact release time.
