What Does a Bail Bond Cosigner Do?

A cosigner (indemnitor) guarantees the defendant will appear in court. If they don't, the cosigner is on the hook for the full bond amount.

Who Can Cosign?

Most cosigners are family members or close friends with stable employment and good credit. They must be 18+, U.S. citizens or legal residents, and able to verify income and residence.

What You're Agreeing To

By signing, you guarantee that the defendant will attend every court date. If they skip, you are financially responsible for the full bond amount — not just the 10% (or $100 minimum per charge) premium.

How to Protect Yourself

Only cosign for someone you trust. Stay in contact with them. Make sure they know every court date. Call us immediately if you're concerned they may miss court.
